JPT finished the development and trial of the complete system for polymer injection control

JPT finished the development and trial of the complete system for polymer injection control using sidepocket mandrels and control valves including multiple geometrical tandem reductors and spacers. Each component has been designed and optimized to minimize the mechanical damage of the polymer. The complete system includes a special designed and manufactured with non- magnetic stainless steel valve pocket for the standard mandrel and an additional specially elongated mandrel with a special pocket required for large differential pressure up to 2000psi. The valves are manufactured using stainless steel and special design to minimize as well polymer mechanical damage, a conditioning section was added to the valves together with the geometrical reductors section, standard setup is 19 reductors and a new elongated valve is being tested using up to 29 reductors for extreme large differential pressure. The initial tests of the module, valve and mandrel pocket show polymer mechanical damage from near zero up to 25-40% depending ondifferential pressure and rate.
